Chelsey Sweatman, Elementary Music Specialist

Mrs. Chelsey Sweatman, from Connellsville, PA, graduated from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and an emphasis in Voice in 2009. She completed Level 1 Orff-Schulwerk Certification from the University of Kentucky in 2008, and maintains membership in the Greater Cincinnati Orff-Schulwerk Chapter and the Ohio Music Educators Association. Mrs. Sweatman is currently in her 4th year of teaching music at Delshire Elementary of the Oak Hills Local School District, where she was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2011. Mrs. Sweatman is also employed by the Cincinnati Children’s Choir as Director of the West Satellite Choir, a performing vocal ensemble open to children in grades 3 – 6. She is also the Children’s Choir Director at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Sweatman has held a weekly private studio for 3 years and she also performs professionally as a vocalist in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Mrs. Sweatman is thrilled to join the Mount St. Joseph Music Academy Staff. It is her goal that students will become better musicians, performers, and more importantly, better people, as they experience the joy of learning music.
