Joel Greenberg, Contemporary Guitar/Bass
Joel Greenberg is a professional guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and audio engineer in the Cincinnati area. For over two decades he has been performing on guitar, vocals, bass, and mandolin. He holds a bachelor of music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music (CCM).
Known for his ability to achieve a great tone and crossover from various styles, Joel has become one of the more in-demand guitarists in the area. Performance credits include Playhouse in the Park, Ensemble Theater of Cincinnati, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, CCM Musical Theater Department, the Aronoff Center, the Human Race Theatre, the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, New Stage Collective, Sturkey’s, the Queen City Club, The Blue Wisp, Dee Felice Cafè, Chez Nora, and numerous clubs.
His recording studio experiences led him to study recording arts and his busy schedule often includes audio engineering work in his personal studio, The Rhythm Section, and as a live sound engineer for various large and small venues. He has written and produced music for both film and radio.
Joel is also a known music educator and is a department manager at the Cincinnati Music Academy where he teaches guitar, mandolin, bass and music technology. He is the Professor of Jazz Guitar at the College of Mount St. Joseph and gives clinics on all things music in the region.
